Heart of the Valley Animal Shelter

HOV is an open admission shelter which means we accept any dog or cat brought to the shelter regardless of condition or circumstance. In addition to reuniting lost pets with their families and finding new homes for homeless animals, HOV serves as a resource for the community by providing programs and services designed to help bring people and pets together. We offer humane education programming, canine training classes and behavioral consultations, special adoption programs for senior adults and military veterans, low cost micro-chipping, ID tags, pet licensing and a no cost Spay/Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP).

Glocal Housing

The HRDC works to improv

We aim to separate our understanding of "affordable housing" from the unfortunate stigma that is often attached to it.  Our goal, in time, is to build housing units deserving of the word "affordable." These will be units built with quality resources and care. We are serious in our intentions to establish "exceptional affordable housing". We are serious about:

Glocal is hard at work each day turning this vision into a reality.

Thrive

Thrive provides mentoring, education, and support for children and families so that everyone in our community has the tools they need to be successful. Our proven programs have been developed using evidence-based practices, adapted to meet local community needs, and rigorously evaluated to ensure program efficacy.

Thrive has developed critical community partnerships built on sharing design, implementation, management, evaluation, financial resources, and responsibilities for programs. This approach, which has the success of the child at its center, results in the highest quality services, maximizes scarce resources, and has a powerful impact on outcomes for children
