Responsibilities:
Creating a welcoming environment by bringing warmth, kindness, and authenticity to every interaction.
Making the moment right by creating space for customers to voice their concerns & taking action on these.
Showing gratitude for guests by taking steps to ensure their return.
Communicating clearly and kindly by using grateful language and observing customer cues.
Ensuring beverage quality by thoroughly understanding beverage recipes/procedures and approaching each beverage with attention to detail.
Expanding coffee knowledge by actively pursuing and participating in industry trends and news. Share this knowledge with the team and customers, alike.
Contributing creatively by demonstrating initiative in designing new featured/seasonal beverages or in community events
Demonstrating punctuality and accountability, including accurate cash handling.
Demonstrating task timeliness by consistently completing assigned food preparation or cleaning tasks thoroughly and in a timely manner.
Multitasking to ensure accurate operation of the Toast POS system while taking orders/processing transactions.
Actively preventing bottlenecks by addressing or informing management of potential bottlenecks before they happen.
Bringing a solutions oriented approach by problem solving independently and providing management with potential solutions rather than problems.
Reflecting on performance by regularly and proactively seeking feedback to fine tune performance.
Taking ownership of cleanliness by proactively maintaining cleanliness and organization of the shop
Qualifications:
Excellent hospitality skills with the ability to engage with customers through warmth, kindness, and authenticity.
Strong time management and critical thinking skills
Proficient in cash handling and basic retail/food service math skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Experience as a specialty barista or other beverage crafting is encouraged but not required
